I am a Consultant Psychotherapist based in Cornwall specialising in Psychoanalytic approaches to Human distress. Although I now work exclusively in private practice, I have extensive previous NHS experience over many years in a range of mental health settings, alongside a varied portfolio of qualifications; the highest of these is a Clinical Doctorate in Psychotherapy. Much of my professional life is now spent providing specialist psychotherapy services to ‘doctors in distress’ – these are typically senior NHS medics struggling with a wide range of mental health difficulties, including addiction.

Our first appointment will be charged at a concessionary rate of £35. This is because people may want to meet several psychotherapists before settling on whom to work with moving forwards – and if there are several initial full fee meetings this can quickly become expensive. Following our first meeting my standard rate is £75 per hour either in person (St Austell) or using an online platform such as Zoom. Meeting online is becoming increasingly popular, and, despite some initial reservations I now see several people this way and find it typically works well.

Concessions are available to those on a reduced income - please inquire. I aim to exclude no one who might benefit from services on financial grounds alone. You are welcome to view my website for further information here.

I also provide a clinical supervision service and will soon be added to the UKCP register of ‘approved’ supervisors. At present I am offering this service on a lower fee basis of £50 per session.

Finally, I will always try to work around your personal and professional commitments - sometimes we may need to work creatively with our diaries.
